The News, Eats & Events Shaping Western New York

The Buffalo Bills have revealed dramatic new renderings for a trio of massive bison statues that will soon greet fans at the entrance to Highmark Stadium’s Family Circle.

Engineered from steel and outfitted in stainless steel, these sculptures embody the strength and resilience symbolic of Buffalo’s spirit.

The display will feature a 27-foot-tall bull, a 22-foot-tall cow, and a 12-foot-tall calf, honoring the idea of family and the next generation of Bills Mafia.

At night, programmable lights and smoke effects will give the statues a lifelike presence, evoking wintry breaths unique to Western New York.

Designed by acclaimed artist Blessing Hancock and built at ART Research Enterprises, the statues will anchor a welcoming plaza showcasing plaques for past Bills legends, inviting fans to gather and connect.

Completion is timed for the new stadium’s grand opening, making the bison statues a powerful symbol for the future of the team and city.

Western New York residents have shown remarkable solidarity, stepping up to support TSA agents at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport as they endure more than five weeks without pay.

After the airport put out a call for help, donations swiftly poured in, with lines of locals delivering gift cards early Tuesday morning.

An impressive $16,000 in gift cards was collected within a single day, reflecting a powerful sense of community.

Volunteers, including those who usually comfort travelers with therapy dogs, eagerly gathered the donations.

The donated cards ranged from grocery and restaurant options, aiming to ease the burden for these hardworking agents.

Despite the ongoing government shutdown, the TSA staff maintain airport operations smoothly, while locals continue their outpouring of generosity and support.
